The strongest of the CP grades, titanium grade 4 is a commercially available pure titanium alloy. With trace amounts of oxygen (≤0.40%), iron (≤0.50%), carbon (≤0.08%), and hydrogen (≤0.015%), it is composed of 99.2% titanium. Its yield strength is 480 MPa, its tensile strength is about 550 MPa, and its elongation is about 15%. It retains good formability and corrosion resistance in spite of its strength. It is perfect for more demanding structural applications because of its mechanical qualities, particularly when greater strength and resistance to harsh environments are crucial.
