Non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel 904L has a low carbon content and a high alloy composition that includes 1–2% copper, 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, and 4–5% molybdenum. Superior corrosion resistance is offered by this composition, particularly against acids like phosphoric and sulphuric. Even in challenging conditions, it provides good ductility, toughness, and tensile strength of 490–710 MPa. 904L functions well at both high and low temperatures and maintains its non-magnetic nature under all circumstances.
