The ferritic stainless steel 430F has a chromium content of roughly 16–18% and is enhanced with sulphur (0.15–0.35%) to make it easier to machine. It contains trace amounts of silicon and manganese and has a low carbon content. In mildly corrosive environments, the alloy provides good corrosion resistance and a moderate tensile strength of approximately 450–600 MPa. Additionally, SS 430F retains respectable magnetic and ductility qualities. It is appropriate for parts needing exceptional machinability and dimensional stability in production settings because it responds well to cold working even though heat treatment cannot harden it.
