Stainless Steel 430 is a ferritic stainless steel that typically contains 16–18% chromium, iron as the base, and very little carbon (up to 0.12%). It has outstanding oxidation resistance at high temperatures and good corrosion resistance, especially in mildly corrosive environments. The mechanical properties offer good formability and moderate strength, with a tensile strength of about 450–600 MPa, a yield strength of about 250 MPa, and an elongation of 22%.
