In addition to nickel and trace elements, Stainless Steel 422 is a martensitic stainless steel alloy that has roughly 11–13% chromium, 0.2–0.5% molybdenum, and 0.2–0.4% carbon. It has outstanding creep and oxidation resistance up to 1200°F (649°C) and a tensile strength of 655–895 MPa.
