Neil Metals is committed to ensuring a reliable supply, precise dimensions, and timely delivery to both local and global markets.
Stainless Steel 416 Hollow Bars are martensitic stainless steel alloys that contain 12–14% chromium and a higher sulfur content (0.15–0.35%) to boost machinability. While adding sulfur does slightly compromise corrosion resistance, it greatly improves chip-breaking during machining. SS 416 offers a tensile strength of about 600–750 MPa and a yield strength of around 450 MPa, depending on the heat treatment. It responds well to heat treatment, which enhances hardness and strength, while also maintaining moderate resistance to oxidation and mild corrosive environments.

SS 416 hollow bars are commonly used in industries like automotive, aerospace, and petrochemicals, as well as in manufacturing pumps, valves, and gears due to their machinability and corrosion resistance.
SS 416 hollow bars are commonly used in industries like automotive, aerospace, and petrochemicals, as well as in manufacturing pumps, valves, and gears due to their machinability and corrosion resistance.
SS 416 hollow bars are not ideal for high-temperature applications due to their reduced corrosion resistance and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. They perform best in moderate conditions, excelling in machinability and wear resistance for general engineering uses.
These Stainless Steel 416 Hollow Bars are widely used in applications that require excellent machinability along with moderate corrosion and wear resistance. Common applications include shafts, gears, fasteners, motor parts, valve components, pump housings, and screw machine products. The hollow design is perfect for reducing weight and material costs in parts that need internal flow or boring. SS 416 is especially valued in high-volume production settings where machining efficiency and dimensional stability are key. It’s also suitable for use in mild chemical and atmospheric environments where strength and precise fabrication are essential.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
