Neil Metals provides dependable products with timely service, competitive pricing, and total customer satisfaction to a range of industries, including general engineering, automotive, defence, and machinery.
12–14% chromium, up to 0.15% sulphur (for machinability), and very little nickel make up stainless steel 416 Hex Bars. Because of the sulphur content, the material has a moderate resistance to corrosion and excellent machinability. It has a yield strength of about 275 MPa, a tensile strength of about 550–760 MPa, good hardness, and the ability to be heat treated. Strong wear resistance and moderate strength under dry, non-aggressive conditions make SS 416 a good choice for parts that need to be machined frequently, but it is not the best material for highly corrosive environments.

Applications requiring good machinability and moderate corrosion resistance frequently use stainless steel 416 hex bars. They are employed in the automotive industry to make gears, fasteners, and shafts. They are used in the aerospace and defence industries for parts that need to be strong and precise. They work well with threaded parts, pump shafts, and valve parts in industrial machinery. In mechanical assemblies, their hexagonal shape offers both structural strength and grip. Additionally, SS 416 is preferred in the production of machine parts, screws, and fixtures where high-volume production depends on effective turning, drilling, and tapping.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
