Stainless Steel 347 Forgings are composed of chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–13%), and columbium (niobium) along with tantalum, which helps stabilize the alloy against intergranular corrosion. The typical mechanical properties feature a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 40%. It boasts a Brinell hardness of roughly 201 HB. This alloy showcases excellent mechanical performance and oxidation resistance at temperatures reaching up to 870°C. Its stabilized structure effectively prevents carbide precipitation during welding or prolonged heat exposure, ensuring durability and resilience in harsh thermal and chemical conditions.

Stainless Steel 347 Forgings find extensive use in applications that demand outstanding resistance to heat and intergranular corrosion. Key sectors include aerospace, petrochemical, power generation, and marine industries. Common applications encompass aircraft exhaust systems, heat exchangers, furnace components, boiler tubes, and chemical processing equipment. The 347 alloy is particularly effective in high-temperature service conditions due to its remarkable creep strength and resistance to sensitization. It is also well-suited for environments where durability and reliability are paramount.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
