Based in Kolkata, India, Neil Metals is a well-known producer and supplier of stainless steel 347 bars and rods. Our speciality is providing premium stainless steel products, which are renowned for their exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion. With its exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion, stainless steel 347 is a stabilised austenitic steel grade that is perfect for high-temperature applications. Many industries that demand structural integrity and heat resistance use our 347 bars and rods. With the support of cutting-edge technology and a committed workforce, Neil Metals guarantees on-time delivery, reliable product quality, and adherence to global standards for vital industrial applications.
In order to avoid carbide precipitation, stainless steel 347 bars and rods are stabilised with niobium (columbium) and contain 17–19% chromium and 9–13% nickel. Usually, the niobium content is 10 times the carbon content minimum, and the carbon content can reach up to 0.08%. These bars have good elongation and hardness, with a yield strength of 205 MPa and a tensile strength of about 515 MPa. 347 is appropriate for welded and pressure-retaining applications because it has good mechanical qualities at high temperatures and maintains its strength and resistance to corrosion in oxidising, high-heat conditions.

High-temperature applications where exceptional corrosion resistance and thermal stability are essential are best suited for stainless steel 347 bars and rods. They are frequently found in boiler tubes, exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, heat exchangers and parts for aeroplane engines. After being exposed to temperatures in the range of chromium carbide precipitation, the alloy’s niobium stabilisation renders it impervious to intergranular corrosion. Because of these characteristics, it works well in chemical processing, aerospace, marine environments, and petroleum refining. Additionally, SS 347 offers a long service life and requires less maintenance in pressure vessels and piping systems exposed to high temperatures and corrosive conditions.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
