Compared to standard 321, stainless steel 321H bars and rods usually have a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%), 9–12% nickel, and 17–19% chromium. Because titanium stabilises it, carbide precipitation is avoided during welding and heat exposure. With a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa, the added carbon improves strength at higher temperatures. Up to 900°C, SS 321H exhibits outstanding oxidation resistance along with good ductility and formability. It is appropriate for high-temperature service because it maintains structural stability under pressure and thermal stress conditions.
