Stainless Steel 316L Square Bars/Rods are a low-carbon variant of the alloy 316 stainless steel, consisting mainly of 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, and 2–3% Molybdenum to enhance the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The carbon is restricted to less than 0.03% to avoid the sensitization of the material during welding. These bars/rods possess sound mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of about 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40%.
