Stainless Steel 316L Hollow Bar is a low-carbon variant of 316 stainless steel, made up of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and up to 0.03% carbon. The reduced carbon content reduces the precipitation of carbides during welding, improving corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides and acidic environments. Mechanically, 316L provides a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, a yield strength of 170 MPa, and good elongation and impact toughness. Its molybdenum content enhances pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, making it suitable for application in severe chemical, marine, and high-moisture environments.
