Neil Metals’ Stainless Steel 304 Bars and Rods are produced using an austenitic stainless steel alloy with about 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. This alloy provides good corrosion resistance, satisfactory forming and welding properties, and superior strength. Other components are Manganese, Silicon, and a low amount of Carbon content (up to 0.08%). The material generally has a tensile strength of 515–750 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%. SS 304 retains its mechanical strength over a broad range of temperatures and can be used under both cryogenic and high-temperature conditions without loss of performance or strength.
