Stainless Steel 303 Round Bars and Rods are austenitic stainless steel alloys consisting mainly of 17–19% chromium, 8–10% nickel, and sulfur (approximately 0.15–0.35%) added to improve machinability. This grade provides a tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa and a yield strength of about 310 MPa. Although sulfur addition decreases corrosion resistance by a little bit compared to 304, it significantly enhances ease of machining without any loss of mechanical performance. SS 303 also has good oxidation and scaling resistance in mild atmospheric and chemical environments.
