Stainless Steel 303 Hex Bars and Rods are an austenitic stainless steel alloy containing around 17–19% chromium, 8–10% nickel, and sulfur and phosphorus as additions to improve machinability. The carbon percentage is around 0.15%, offering good strength with a tensile strength of about 620 MPa and a yield strength of 310 MPa. These bars have good corrosion resistance in moderately corrosive conditions but are weaker than 304 owing to sulfur present in them. Hexagonal structure provides better grip and machining effectiveness for the production of precision components.
