Typically, it has a composition of 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese, along with small amounts of carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. This grade is known for its good toughness and corrosion resistance, all while being more affordable than 304. It boasts a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and an elongation of 40% over 50 mm. The hardness is around 217 Brinell.
