Nitronic 60 Bars and Rods consist mainly of Iron, containing substantial levels of Chromium (17–20%), Nickel (8–9%), Manganese (8–9%), and Silicon (3.5–4.5%). Minor additions of Nitrogen and Molybdenum provide increased strength and corrosion resistance. This austenitic stainless steel has superior resistance against galling, wear, and fretting. Its average tensile strength is approximately 690 MPa, with a yield strength of 300 MPa and an elongation of about 35%. Nitronic 60 maintains high mechanical strength at high temperatures and has superior corrosion resistance compared to 304 and 316 and is hence suitable for severe, high-stress applications.
