Nitronic 50 Bars and Rods are produced from a nitrogen-hardened austenitic stainless steel alloy containing about 20–23% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, and minor amounts of molybdenum and nitrogen. This alloy offers almost double the yield strength of 304 and 316 stainless steels with excellent toughness and ductility. It provides tensile strength as high as 965 MPa and yield strength as high as 690 MPa in the annealed state. Nitronic 50 also exhibits non-magnetic properties even after cold working and exhibits high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking.
