What is Nilo Alloy 36 Bars and Rods?

Nilo Alloy 36 Bars and Rods contain iron in the balance, and nickel is added at a composition of 35-37%. Trace elements are carbon ≤0.05%, manganese ≤0.60%, silicon ≤0.40%, cobalt ≤0.50%, and chromium ≤0.50%. The low thermal expansion property of this alloy is in the range of -250°C to 200°C. Mechanical properties of the alloy are tensile strength = 490 MPa, yield strength = 240 MPa, and elongation = 42%. The alloy also has excellent toughness and dimensional stability. It is therefore used in precision instruments, aerospace, and cryogenic applications. The high nickel content provides excellent resistance to temperature fluctuation and thermal stress.
