Aluminium 5052 is a non-heat-treatable alloy that mainly consists of magnesium (2.2–2.8%) and chromium (0.15–0.35%), along with small amounts of iron, silicon, copper, and manganese, with the rest being aluminum. It boasts a tensile strength of 210–290 MPa, yield strength of 130–240 MPa, and elongation ranging from 7–20%, depending on the temper. What sets Aluminium 5052 apart is its remarkable corrosion resistance, particularly in marine settings, along with excellent weldability and moderate-to-high strength, making it perfect for a variety of forged industrial components.

Aluminum 5052 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability, and formability. It's lightweight, durable, resistant to stress cracking, and performs well in marine and industrial environments, making it ideal for custom forgings.
Aluminum 5052 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and poor high-temperature strength. Alloys like 7075 or 2011 are better suited for such applications.
Aluminum 5052 has excellent workability, making it suitable for forging. Its low-to-medium strength, good corrosion resistance, and formability allow for ease in shaping, reducing the risk of cracking during forging.
Aluminium 5052 forgings find extensive use in industries that need components combining strength, corrosion resistance, and formability. In the marine sector, they are perfect for boat hulls, decking, and structural parts exposed to seawater. In the automotive industry, 5052 is utilized for fuel tanks, panels, and brackets due to its lightweight nature and strength. The construction sector uses it for railings, roofing, and siding. Additionally, it’s great for food processing equipment, electronic enclosures, and transport containers, thanks to its non-reactive and durable qualities. Aluminium 5052 forgings consistently perform well in both indoor and outdoor environments.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
