Aluminium 1070 is a commercially pure grade, boasting at least 99.7% aluminum, along with minimal amounts of iron (≤0.25%), silicon (≤0.20%), and trace elements like copper, zinc, and manganese. This grade is non-heat-treatable and is known for its excellent conductivity and workability. Its tensile strength typically falls between 60–130 MPa, yield strength ranges from 25–70 MPa, and elongation usually varies from 20–35%, depending on the temper. Aluminium 1070 is renowned for its remarkable resistance to atmospheric corrosion, high reflectivity, and ease of forging and cold-working, making it a great fit for a variety of precision-engineered applications.

The forging process for Aluminium 1070 typically takes several hours, depending on the complexity of the part and size. Heating, shaping, cooling, and finishing stages each contribute to the total time.
Aluminum 1070 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and limited strength at elevated temperatures. Alloys like 7075 or 2618 are better suited.
Aluminum 1070 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, good formability, and high purity, making it ideal for custom forgings in applications requiring strength and durability with minimal impurities.
Industries that need lightweight materials with outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity widely use Aluminium 1070 forgings. In the electrical sector, you’ll find them in bus bars, transformer windings, and wire conductors. The chemical and food industries rely on them for storage tanks, piping, and process equipment, thanks to their corrosion resistance and non-toxic properties. In construction, they’re utilized for roofing, wall cladding, and decorative panels. Additionally, Aluminium 1070 finds its way into lighting reflectors, radiators, heat exchangers, and signage, making it a versatile choice for both structural and aesthetic applications across various industrial and commercial sectors.
We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
